I was talking with some people in #habari last night, and again this morning.

Owen is still paying for Slicehost hosting for habariproject.org out-of-pocket. We need to fix this. I understand that the plan to resolve this has petered out a few times (ASF, sponsorship, entities...).

So, let's actually make it happen.

I think we need to do this in 3 phases:
1) define our technical hosting needs
2) determine what we'll give in return for sponsorship (such as a small link to the sponsor's site)
3) actually solicit sponsorship based on (1) and (2)

I'm confident that if we can agree on #1 and #2, then #3 will come naturally. We are the ones with "power" here, so we should define #2 carefully, and stick to our agreement.

So, to get the ball rolling on #1, I've set up a wiki page: http://wiki.habariproject.org/en/User:sean/habariproject_hosting
Please elaborate on this if you can help.

It would also be great if someone else starts a wiki page for #2 so we can work on these in parallel.

I added current costs as I know them to the wiki page.
It comes to somewhere around $1150/year.

Also, I agree with rick_c. The bandwidth usage shouldn't cap at 10G.
If I read the dipstick right for the one reading during April, we used
almost 50G. Of course, that could have been 5G, but that seems really
