In the interest of generating more connection among the members of the Habari Community, it's been suggested that we have a sort of "What are you working on?" discussion from time to time. So, here's the first round. I think we should try to get one of these going every other week or so. Perhaps more?
Anyway, I'm working on some theme stuff to use with the photology plugin (thanks skippy and mikelietz!) For a photo-gallery type site. Once I get some navigation things figured out I'll be posting that to extras.
So, what are you working on in the world of Habari? -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.9 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org
This week I worked on the French translation and tested it over a
fresh install.
Yesterday I jumped in and created an account to access habari-dev.
I'm not really a developper in any way (I learned php by myself), but
I plan to learn more about writing and submitting patches to Habari
(or if anyone could point me to some resources or howto's...)
Other than that, I'm thinking about a new plugin to create "virtual
directories" (file repositories) using the existing token permissions
system. For now it's just an idea and I'll have to wait until I'm
more familiar with coding and such. Maybe someone could do it using
the Habari Silo, but I don't have the knowledge to do it by myself.

I move all over the shop, getting little done. I've been working on closing as many trac tickets as possible, which mostly consists of bugging people and getting people to look at patches, and tidying up stuff for 0.6. I'm mulling over multi-site and multi-user stuff and Habari as a platform (hence this http://pastoid.com/are+). I should get back to working on the wiki :)
Since then, I have been on a theme hunt, resurrected Mike Schepker's
Phoenix Blue and Chase Crawford's Wings themes and dusted them off for
0.5.2 and 0.6.
I also continued to evangelise about Habari on identi.ca but also
lodged some fierce criticism of the installer.
Surprised to see we only have 36 themes listed in the Wiki so if you
have an Habari theme (ideally original work) you would like to share
with the community, please step forward.
Peace, love, Habari.

I just hacked together my first Habari plugin, a simple little jquery
powered pull quotes.
I've also dusted off a couple of the ported themes I had released and
updated them for trunk, as well as one I had never released. I also
have 2 new themes I'm working on, one using hiengine. The other,
still mostly a twinkle in my eye, will be a grid based "magazine"
style theme.
I too did some pruning and housekeeping on trac, thanks to Michael and
Rick among others for picking up where I left off. Currently there are
137 open tickets, I'd love to see that number drop to two digits, if
even for a day.
Finally, I'm trying to get a few people together to update the manual,
hopefully tomorrow evening at some point. I've got the latest version
of Tiddlywiki with the MediaWiki importer set up, but would like to
get some input on how better to organize the navigation. Consensus
that I've gathered via discussions on IRC is that we should better
highlight the end user manual is on Scott's user page
http://wiki.habariproject.org/en/User:skippy/Draft_Manual. Apparently
it's in the manual now, but kinda buried.
For the most part this week I've been working around the edges, taking
care of some of the easier tickets that have been hanging around trac.
Also doing some of the side work needed to get ACL functioning
properly, and learning what I can about unix permissions.

I am working on a theme and set of plugins that convert Habari into an
issue tracking system. I have already built some interesting stuff
that will eventually fins it's way into plugins like allowing people
to upload and attach files to comments.
Once the issue tracker is done I plan on building out a basecamp like
experience as well.

I've been working on the plugin_directory plugin and a theme that
would use it. My progress on the plugin is mostly all checked in now,
and soon I'll put my templates and/or theme into -extras so other
people can take a whack at it. I've also looked at the odd bug or
ticket here and there.

I'm currently working on migrating my sites from Wordpress to Habari
and in the process creating several plugins to fill the gaps not
already filled by other plugins, including a SmugMug Silo plugin (in
final testing phases now), an archives plugin that is a port of the
SnazzyArchives plugin (almost ready to release, just got a scaling
issue to resolve) and a gallery plugin that implements a gallery
similar to FAlbum, but using SmugMug as the source of the photos
instead of Flickr.
This migration process is also helping highlight issues in Habari,
which get logged as encountered ;-)
Oh yes, and I've translated Habari to "UK English" - it really wasn't that hard.
Chris: I like the sound of using Habari as an issue tracking system.
Keep us updated.
