Subject: Using an Iframe when conversion is on another domain
We have a site that sells cellular phones. For security purposes we
have the checkout process on a completely different domain. We are
able to include some lines of code on the final "Thank You" page, but
not on the other pages on that site.

In order to track conversions we have asked our friends to include
code that loads up a 1px/1px iframe that is an html page (like
https://www.site.com/thanks.htm) on our website, and which contains
the conversion code for GWO.

I figure that GWO will see this as if someone visited my site and then
went AWOL and now they are suddenly back and converted.

So I tried it and I see only 2 conversions - the actual number should
be 10.

Should this method work? Is there something else I should be doing?

Am I doing it wrong?

thanks!
sam.

keep in mind that GWO tracks visitors and only counts one conversion
per visitor. If you generate more conversions with the same visitor
GWO will report only one.

Bfri

When dealing with multiple domains, cookies become a real problem. The
fact that the "secure" domain is loading your domain in an iframe
means your cookies are treated as "3rd-party" cookies and subject to
being blocked by the browser, or a toolbar, or anti-spyware software.

Thanks Shoretel.
That would explain why I am getting 1/4 of the conversions but not the
rest.
Only very permissive browsers are yielding conversions....
I hope the conversions I am getting are representative of my other
visitors in terms of propensity to convert...

regards,
sam.

Is there a piece of code (js?) I can run on the "secure site" that
will cause the browser to see my "conversion page" as if it were not a
3rd party cookie?
