Peace Gullah/Geechee Sea Island Coalition Members and Supporters!

Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation will embark on her
annual world tour at the beginning of "Black History/African Heritage
Month." In celebration of the "International Year of People of
African Descent," Queen Quet has entitled her tour "Gullah/Geechee
Gold Souls." As you are well aware, Queen Quet began these tours as
"Save the Sea Islands" and has continued to take the message of our
cultural community not only around the country, but around the world.
She is the trailblazer that has caused national and world attention to
come to focus on laws that will help protect the rights and existence
of Gullah/Geechees wherever they dwell.

We are calling on ALL of our members and supporters to start off this
year of supporting this effort in three major ways:

1) We seek 90 people dedicated to raising or contributing $900 or a
wish list item of that value or more within the next nine months. You
should email Gull...@aol.com to have your pledge noted and to be
listed as a "Gold Soul" for this campaign.

2) "Nu Health Concepts" is the first company that is on our "Gold
Souls" list. For every box of "Organo Gold" coffee or tea that is
purchased during "Black History/African Heritage Month" from that
company, they will make a contribution to the continued work of the
Gullah/Geechee Sea Island Coalition. So, please order a box of this
healthier coffee or tea by going to www.nuhealthconcepts.com. We
would like to have at least $900 donated from that company toward our
completion or archival upgrades and renovations where we store
numerous materials pertaining to the history and culture of our
people.

3) During the month of March and July, we are having our "Gold Souls"
Coalition Teams come to St. Helena Island to do volunteer community
service and to help bring additional supplies to the "Alkebulan
Archive." We are calling on you to be a part of the volunteers or to
assist the volunteers if you are one of our members or supporters that
live on St. Helena Island. Please email Gull...@aol.com to find out
how you can bring students, civic and grassroots groups, your family,
etc. to come and help us with this work and to find out what your team
can bring to complete the archive.

If you have not been to our website recently, please go to www.gullahgeechee.net
and click on "Contributing to the Continuation of the Culture" and
begin adding to goal of the "Gold Souls." Do not forget to renew your
membership or pay dues to become an official member either. You can
download the form at the site or email Gull...@aol.com for one. We
are globally strong and can only become stronger as we make these
golden links this year.

Tenki tenki ta all hunnuh chillun wha be dun gee ta wi. Disya fa dem
wha e be call "black gold." Hunnuh hafa memba hunnuh da a "Gold
Soul."

Peace, blessings, thanks, and strength,
Gullah/Geechee Sea Island Coalition
