While this is something that should make LEOs cringe but it should
send a message to everyone and that is that everything can change in a
second or two. A police officer's job takes him into violent or
potentially violent situations that he can't avoid while a regular
citizen can and should be humble enough to avoid situations
(confrontations) that can place them or their love ones in danger.
Just think of being in the street and engaging in an argument with
someone only to have their partner that you did not see emerge and
both of them take out a weapon and use it on you. So everyone be
careful, keep your eyes open, and whenever possible avoid placing
yourself into places where you are likely to run into confrontations.

That was attempted murder!
What does it take to get a conviction these days? They even have
clear video evidence.
