Don't give up on the Mac, it could have been something you said in another language.

No, no, don't lower yourself to that level of turning to the p.c. Shudder.
Try getting rid of all your universal files (dependingon what you're running, those could be the ppc or the intel builds, and for some reason when I get rid of all the unneeded megabytes of language files, my system (MacOS-10.4 on G4,or 10.5 on old Pismo, works better. 
Let us know precisely what OS-X you're running and the hardware it's on and if you got the crash log you can post.
