Just going back to look at the API and I'd forgotten that there is no
connection between the RSS feed to the content item api.

Can you add meta data to the rss feed that contains the contentId? At
the moment the easiest way of connecting the two appears to be

1: Grab feed
2: Parse url
3: Hit article and parse for http://www.guardian.co.uk/email/(d+)
4: Go to API

I guess you could go the other way,

Agreed, it would be very useful to include the content item id in the
RSS feed to avoid having to do an intermediary lookup on the web page.

Any chance of this happening?

I'm in the same position, is there any possibility that the content
item ID could be inserted into each RSS item?

Otherwise I'd have to maintain some weird database of URLs and item
IDs so I didn't need to keep doing what Tom suggested :(

Yeah, this makes a lot of sense. Glad to hear there are several
people wanting the same thing.

We're working on some other updates like this that we'll share soon.
