Hi Jen,

You can search for a person and find the articles they have contributed using the Item endpoint on the Content API. You can find the list of contributors on the tag endpoint and using a type of contributor:-

The id value of the tag can then be used on the item endpoint to get the articles by the contributor, for example:-

The total value will give you the number of results listed for that contributor and you can see the results listed.

We do not offer pages views for articles.

Hope that helps.

Jenny

Greetings all.

Hi Jen,

It's likely that we have tag set up for the people you are looking for just remove the type=contributor and a search term on the tag endpoint:-

The id from that result can be used on the item endpoint. Just note that the results listed will contain the tag of the person you are looking for and may not mean that the person has contributed to the article. Other than that I can only suggest using the search endpoint and using a generic search option.

As far as I know The Guardian does not provide page view statistics externally.

Thanks,
Jenny

Hi Jennifer,

Thanks very much for your help. Is there a way outside of the API that I can gather pageview statistics for guardian article URLs?

I'm not looking for information on Guardian authors, rather, I am looking at the pages with contributions from specific non-Guardian experts, and I want to compare the popularity of the pages.

Best wishes
Jen
