Spring plays a very important role in Java Enterprise Industry it has
become the standards of most international business. Every time you
look for a job Spring and Hibernate has become the fundamental
requirement for every applicant. GWT can pretty much work as a front
end on this technology and use Spring as a back-end.

Using GWT with Spring requires a bridge to communicate with its core
technology such as Inversion Control, Aspect-Oriented Programming,
Data Access, Transaction Management, Model View Controller, Remote
Access Framework, Convertion-Over-Configuration, Batch Processing,
Authentication and Authorization, Remote Management, Messaging,
Testing and Inversion of Control.

As you can see Spring is an all in one framework that helps you deal
with most common enterprise problems. It has evolve into a
sophisticated model to cater the needs of every developers. It's
framework works on Java and .Net.

To make it work with GWT you need a library called GWTSL(http://gwt-
widget.sourceforge.net/). This is the only library that I know that
supports GWT 2.0 and the latest Spring 3.0. Spring requires a lot of
libraries and learning Maven helps developers ease those pain on
getting the latest library updates.

I have manage to work on this project and personally it was the most
difficult task I ever had considering its complexity and xml files.
Thanks to Paul Schwarz who help me all the way.

Here is the link of a basic example on how to use GWT with Spring and
other libraries.

I did not include the gwt-servlet because the file size is too big.
Add the lib*.zip files to war/web-inf/lib folder on this application

Hi Maks!

Great work on this one.

You may want to create a Google Sites for the Davao GTUG and this is where you can collaborate with other GTUG members for resources. Here's a sample of what we have in Manila -

I'd love to link up your resources on the GAE pages we have.

Also, you might want to work on getting your chapter registered -

Thanks much!

Aileen
