Need cyanogenmod on htc desire hd. anybody who's done it before?

Hello,

I have a HTC Desire HD and I want to install the cyanogenmod 10 ROM on it - the default ROM is clearly missing a lot of up to date features, capabilities, and I'm unable to check out newer Android features.  Anybody who has already done it for the device and who can walk me through the steps?  It's the only proper phone I have and I don't want to brick it with trial and error. :-)
