You should not link to the xml sitemap from the site nor from anywhere
on the web (including this group's posts), lest you end up having the
darn thing indexed as a page too.

You also should not put url's of images in the sitemap, only url's to
individual pages and other text documents like pdf or doc files if you
want and they are linked from the site. Images, if you want them
indexed, are handled by the Google Images robots and that doesn't use
sitemaps, it picks images from the contents of pages.

I wish there was just a little more content about all this within the
gsitecrawler.

Do you think I can get rid of the sitemap URL above? It's published
here on the web now. Did I just totally screw up?

Not to say screwed up, but remember next time you see your sitemap in
the index - remember why it's there.

You can delete your post. And the replies would be left dangling LOL

Can I edit my post, and just remove the url? I have looked where to do
this, and can't find a way. As for deleting, I don't see a way to do
that either...

You cannot edit.

If you click the "show options" button for your post you should see a
"remove" option.
