Hello,

I wanted to know when using GSiteCrawler with a dynamic website if it
can pos problems when submitting an XML Sitemap to Google. All
examples of good Sitemaps show legible URLS. Mine are showing GUID
URLs like below:
http://www.example.com/example.aspx?Category=754098ae-9630-47f0-ac62-4610e434a3dd
Instead of one like below:
http://www.google.com/a/edu/

Is there a preference that I need to set or is this normal and Google,
Bing, and Yahoo should have no problem with it?

Thank you.

While your urls may be deemed "ugly" as opposed to the 'search engine
friendly" ones like the second one you show, from the point of view of
a robot it's actually irrelevant.
As long as your query strings are well structured, correctly encoded,
their parameters always appear in the same order and no two or more
urls end up showing essentially the same page of content, you are OK.

Sure, having "pretty" human readable urls helps a bit with human
visitors' recognition of what the page url is about. But robots don't
truly care - they only care about the page's content: title tag and
body text content that the server serves for the given url.

Gsitecrawler has no problem crawling sites with such urls provided as
I said your urls are correctly built and url-encoded. And let's just
say that if GSC has problems crawling the site (if urls get generated
incorrectly for instance, or cause multiples, etc), so would Google
and any other robot.
