GRWG Web Meeting DCC - May 2013

Dear GSICS Colleagues,

 

1.       Please indicate your interest and availability for the first of Dave's planned web meetings on the Deep Convective Cloud method for GEO-LEO VIS inter-calibration in the following Doodle Poll: http://www.doodle.com/u7u7si956arfsi7b

 

2.       We also need to select one month from the second half of 2012 to use as a test case for development of the DCC algorithm.

3.       Thinking further ahead we need to plan the second of Dave's DCC web meetings. We agreed on 'Summer', but I realise many people have vacation and conferences in the summer and it could be difficult to get everyone together. So for planning purposes it would be helpful if you could indicate your availability on a week-by-week basis. No details yet, but it is likely to be at the usual time (1100-1300 UTC on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday). I enjoyed meeting the GSICS group and putting a face to many of your names at the Williamsburg Workshop I had thought I might see some of you again in College Park at the NOAA satellite conference.
However, travel restrictions have impacted contractors too. I will attend remotely though.

To ensure key representatives of all GEO operators are available I have selected Wednesday 29 May as the date for the first of Dave’s web meetings on DCCs. Details are below. I will not be sending calendar appointments, due to the large amount of email traffic these generate, but you can add your own, as described below.

 

Dave will circulate the agenda before the meeting and I will upload it to the GSICS Wiki at https://gsics.nesdis.noaa.gov/wiki/Development/20130529
