Dear GSICS Colleagues,

The minutes of our annual meeting of the GSICS Research Working Group have now been reviewed and are published on the GSICS Wiki:

https://gsics.nesdis.noaa.gov/pub/Development/20130304/Minutesof2013GRWGGDWGMeeting_v3.doc.

These minutes include the joint sessions with the Data Working Group. The minutes of the GDWG part of the meeting will follow shortly.

After they have been reviewed, the minutes will be combined and sent to WMO for publication of their website.

Please take a note of the actions, which are summarised at the end of the document.

These will be transcribed to the GSICS Operations Plan: https://gsics.nesdis.noaa.gov/wiki/Development/GsicsOperationsPlan,
The GCC will ask you for updates on these actions, which you will be able to track online.

Alternatively, registered users of the Wiki can update their actions directly online.

So we will all be able to see how late you are on your actions!!

I would also like to remind you about the GRWG Web Meeting on 29 May on the DCC Algorithm Application (Part 1), which is being organised by Dave Doelling.

Cheers,

Tim

Dear Colleagues,

Thank you all for attending the Mini Conference and annual meeting of the GSICS Data and Research Working Groups in Williamsburg.

I have uploaded the presentations from the meeting to the GSICS Wiki: https://gsics.nesdis.noaa.gov/wiki/Development/20130304.

Please find attached the draft minutes of the GRWG session and joint sessions of the GRWG+GDWG Annual Meeting, which took place on 5-8 March 2013 in Williamsburg, VA, USA. These start with an Executive Summary you might find useful. The GDWG break-out session will follow from Aleksandar. This does not include Monday’s Mini Conference, as it was not part of the meeting per-se. So if you are only interested in that, you need read no further.

1.       Please check you are happy - especially with any actions and recommendations we have proposed for you and your colleagues.

2.       Also, I have not always fully summarised all the presentation. So if you would like to highlight any of the key points of your presentation, please provide me with a sentence or two for the minutes.

3.       Please also check the attendance list - and forward this to anyone who of your colleagues who were present, but may be missing.

Please provide your input by 19 April. I will then compile a final version of the minutes, assign numbers to the actions and summarise them in a table at the end.

Also, I realised that not all of you are members of our Google Group for GSICS Developers. I would encourage regular contributors to GSICS to sign up to this group as it is the usual channel we use for communications: https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!forum/gsics-dev.

Cheers,

Tim
