  I doubt it is Thunderbird as I don&#39;t have problems on any machine but &lt;br&gt; this one. I did send a bug report to Mozilla. Any suggestions I am &lt;br&gt; desperate to get this running again.

  I just checked on my 10.4 box that had 0.7.6. It gave me the alert, I &lt;br&gt; clicked it, and it downloaded 1.1.6. After I installed 1.1.6 there is &lt;br&gt; no longer an update notification. I believe you&#39;re right here Peter &lt;br&gt; about him having an older version. &lt;br&gt; Chris

  Try disabling a notification from another application. Does it stay &lt;br&gt; disabled? &lt;br&gt; We&#39;re not going to do that.

  Peter, I have been using Growl for a long time without problems. I &lt;br&gt; understand the pull down menu determines what alert I want to see. And &lt;br&gt; I have New Mail selected and the checkbox for enable checked. I am &lt;br&gt; using version 1.2 so it is the newest version. Yes the preference Pane &lt;br&gt; was removed with uninstall, but the Growl folder in Application

  That&#39;s just so you can configure different settings for different &lt;br&gt; notifications. The pop-up menu does nothing but select the &lt;br&gt; notification whose settings you want to look at. &lt;br&gt; Changing which notification&#39;s settings you&#39;re looking at is not &lt;br&gt; changing a setting. &lt;br&gt; The setting, in this case, is the Enabled box.
