Check to make sure your apps are updated and in the preferences they are set to use Growl for notifactions

I am using Growl on OSX 10.7.5

Do you have about 3 apps you want to use with Growl (to start with)

The old growl worked fine... then I deleted it and paid for the new one, which doesn't work at all.
