I've been using the Growl Version Detective to upgrade the framework
on the software I have installed on my MBP.

OS X 10.7.4, Growl 1.3.3 & Version Detective 1.2.1. Framework
upgraded to 1.3.1.

Pop-up alerts work for all of the below:
CyberDuck 4.2.1
gfxCardStatus 2.1
iStumbler 99
KisMAC 0.3.3
Transmission 2.51
TextWrangler 4.0
Keka 1.0.2

Other Applications
Burn 2.5.1 Haven't burned anything yet but software doesn't crash
SugarSync 1.9.26 Only alerts on, well, alerts and haven't seen any
iTerm 2 1.0.0.20120203: Works fine. Haven't seen any pop-up alerts
Firefox 12.0: Have not seen any alerts. Application functions fine.
VLC 2.0.1: Updated framework. Application works. Cannot get it to
alert via Growl and does not show up in 'Settings' > 'Applications' in
Growl preferences.
Dropbox 1.45: Application works but I haven't seen any Growl alerts.

The only application totally broken and I had to rollback was Motorola
Media Link which I use to sync my Atrix phone. This application was
build on the 0.7.6 framework and never updated. When I upgraded the
framework this application kept hanging. Rolling it back got it
functioning again. Way to go Motorola! Another fine engineering
feat!

Hope this helps. Appreciate anyone else's findings being posted.

Check in the apps settings to see if they are set to use growl for notifications

For Motorola Media Link, try nicely asking the developer to update the framework, they might also be working on an update for the app

Why Open the Web?

Despite the connecting purpose of the Web, it is not entirely open to all of
its users. When used correctly, HTML documents can be displayed across
platforms and devices. However, many devices are excluded access to Web
content.

I agree. The Motorola comment was a little mean. Just me expressing
my angst against Motorola phones. I never like the interfaces but
have bought a few. Not sure why. I put in a request...nicely :-)

I was a little hasty with VLC. This started acting strangly as well.
Similar to Motorola Media Link. It started hanging; not so much when
music/video was running but when trying to sync playlists or closing.
Rolled it back and the problems went away.

So, that's the list of items that Version Detector found on my system
and the results I found.
