to growl for windows
hi,

im currently using growl for windows 2.0.8 to replace outlook's ugly
notifications. while my machine is locked, growl groups any missed
notifications into a window (correct me if im wrong, i believe this
feature is called 'rollup').

is there anyway to disable rollup? i dont see any preferences that
control this behavior.

In the current version of Growl for Windows, the Missed Notifications
are controlled by the Idle Settings on the General tab with these
choices:

- Never consider me idle or away
- Consider me idle after X seconds

However, there is an issue that causes all notifications that occur
while your computer is locked to be considered 'missed' regardless of
which setting you choose.

There is a manual workaround if you want to try it. The steps are:

1. Make sure Growl is completely closed and not running
2. Locate the file: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Growl\2.0.0.0\user.config
3. Open the file and file the following section:
<setting name="DisableMissedNotifications" serializeAs="String">
<value>False</value>
</setting>
4. Change the value to True and save the file
5. Restart Growl

By doing that, the Missed Notifications summary will never be shown.

Great! thank you very much! I did have Growl set to never consider me idle or away, which was adding to my confusion.

Much appreciated!
