Folks,

We need to come up with a release to fix GrowlMail integration. Currently it doesn't work in released Growl for 10.6.2.

However, I also said there wouldn't be anymore releases until localizations are done. I'm willing to change that to make localization a 1.3 priority, so long as we do not put 1.3 out until localizations are done.

Thoughts?

Release GrowlMail by itself!

Do it as 1.2.1 where the only change is the GrowlMail fix, since
nobody running Growl will know about the update.

Did you just contradict yourself? :)

We need to keep the current distribution model until we make the full change on the website and in the prefpane at the same time. My thought was 1.4 for that.

not exactly, release Growl 1.2.1 where the only fix is GrowlMail, i
don't see the benefit in holding up GrowlMail for some other arbitrary
milestone such as localizations.

That's what I was getting at. We need growlmail out asap. And we'll
need 1.2.2 for 10.6.3, etc etc etc. My point is we need time to think
about and make localizations good, while we need growlmail out now.

I think I just talked myself into a conclusion, and you already were
there as well.

Unless anyone disagrees, 1.2.1 is for Growlmail only, and whatever is
already in. Can we get a beta out this week?

Peter where's testing at?

This really doesn't need a beta, IMO.

It's a simple addition of the new UUIDs to GrowlMail, with no other
changes, and a number of user have already tested the change via the
advice & unofficial build posted here.

Cheers,

I'm thinking beta if Peter found anything else to change. Otherwise
agreed, plenty of users are already using the changes fine currently

I'm still on 10.6.1, so I have no idea.

We also need to bump the version numbers, but that's easier than it
once was. Aside from that, I agree—no code changes, so we can simply
apply the UUID change, apply the version number changes, have one of
you who's running 10.6.2 test it to make sure I didn't critically fail
at one of the above, and then ship it.

Sorry, I was under the impression you had been testing GrowlMail under
10.6.2.

Everyone on the discuss list seems to be having no problems with the
updated uuid strings. I think we should just bump the version and
release a new version of Growl today.
