The Shevchenko Scientific Society invites all to a presentation of the
bilingual (Ukrainian-English) book of poetry by

Vasyl Makhno

titled

"THREAD and Selected New York Poems"
(New York, Spuyten Duyvil, 2009).

In the book, the Ukrainian originals are by Vasyl Makhno and their English
translations, by Orest Popovych.  At the presentation, Vasyl Makhno will
read his poems in Ukrainian, while Orest Popovych will read his own
English-language translations of the same poems.  Photo-illustrations by
Vasyl Lopukh will accompany the presentation.  Alexander Motyl will emcee
the program.  Books will be available for author signings.

The presentation will take place at the society's building,
63 Fourth Ave. (between Ninth and 10th streets) at 5 p.m.
