CRA Announces New Online Membership Directory

The Carolina Recycling Association's Online Membership Directory provides the public and our members a way to find CRA members. All CRA members are listed in the Online Membership Directory.
Where is the Directory and How do I Get There? You may access the Membership Directory anytime from
our website. Just navigate over "The CRA" for a drop-down menu and click "Membership Directory." Now that you know how to get there in the future, a direct link is included below for your convenience.
For Members: Members of CRA may gain access to the full membership directory, including contact information for other members, by logging into your account. Sign in using the login box in
the upper right corner of the Membership Directory pages. A "Members Only" page will appear, providing you with access to the full directory with contact information.
Privacy Settings: If you would like to modify what information is available to other members, simply log in to your account using your unique username and password and view your profile.
You are able to customize your privacy settings there.
Not a member of CRA? You can still view a listing of all organizations and individuals who are members of CRA to get a sense of who is aligned with us in our mission to advance waste reduction

RALEIGH - Expanding recycling efforts in North Carolina contributed to last year's historic drop in its per capita disposal rate, and state environmental officials today recognized
Catawba County for its leadership in recycling, as shown in the state's annual rankings of county per capita recycling rates.

South Carolina's Recycling Rates Increase for Second Straight Year
According to the recently released S.C. Solid Waste Management Annual Report for Fiscal Year (FY) 2011 (July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011),
the state's municipal solid waste (MSW) recycling rate increased to 27.7 percent in FY 2011. The recycling rate represents an improvement of more than two percentage points from FY10 (25.5 percent) and more than five percentage points from FY09 (22.1 percent).
In FY11, South Carolinians recycled nearly 1.2 million tons of MSW while nearly 3.1 million tons of MSW were disposed of in landfills.
In other good news, the amount of MSW disposed of per person per day decreased for the sixth straight year. From FY05 to FY11, the amount
of MSW disposed of in landfills decreased from 4.5 pounds per person per day (p/p/d) to 3.6 p/p/d. Printed copies of the FY11 report will be available soon. The Southeast Food Waste Reduction Conference is a professional symposium designed for attendees in both the public and private sector
working in the fields of composting and organics recycling. During the 1.5 day conference, attendees will gain new insights to create successful food waste diversion programs in both residential and commercial settings. We will explore a diverse array of organics
recycling topics including source reduction, separation and collection, composting technologies, regulation and legislation, commercial composting strategies and much more.
The Southeast Food Waste Reduction Conference is intended for commercial and institutional food waste generators (e.g. restaurants, cafeterias,
universities, etc), composting professionals, legislators and policymakers, recycling coordinators and utility directors, purchasing agents and facility managers, collection contractors and landfill operators, energy recovery and recycling contractors, growers,
