Dear Friends,

I had the opportunity to attend HumPAL's Complete Streets workshop this past week. Presenters Michael Ronkin and Paul Kykofsky shared many of their design solutions, including adopting new criteria for evaluating the success of a street design and methods for re-stripping streets instead of widening them to include bike lanes and sidewalks. You'll be happy to know that many important decision makers and planners attended.

We have some great opportunities for you to celebrate this week. I hope you can join us.

Cooper Gulch Trail Day

A special thank you to all the volunteers who have helped build the Cooper Gulch Trail with us. This coming weekend we'll be the final Cooper Gulch Trail Day of the season. Join us, this project is a great way to help complete our communities. Drinks and lunch will be provided.

350 Climate Action
Saturday, Oct. 24th, 12:00p.m. Arcata Farmers Market
Join us in conjunction with the International Day of Climate Change for a Community 350 Picture on the Plaza. Remember to bike and walk there!

Trick out your Monster Bike
Monday, Oct. 26th, 6:30p.m., Green Wheels Office
In preparation for Halloween Green Wheels will be holding a crafty meeting so you can trick out your bike. Make your bike a Monster Bike!

Trick or Treat
Saturday, Oct. 31, 4:00-6:00p.m., Arcata Plaza
Main Street invites kids to trick or treat around the Plaza. Green Wheel's new office is in the Jacoby Storehouse and we can't resist a family friendly, pedestrian event. We'll be passing out treats at our office and on the Plaza with our Monster Bikes.
