Green Wheels has a potpourri of actives going on this week. Whether you’re looking to meet fellow cyclists or show your support for connective trails in Humboldt County, the time is now for you to be a part of the action.
Our Monday Night Meeting is relocated to our new office in the Jacoby Storehouse
Mon. Aug. 10, Jacoby Storehouse, Arcata
Green Wheels is moving and we're kicking it off with a cleaning party Monday evening. Your help is greatly appreciated; many hands make light work! We will not be holding an Open Meeting at the NEC; this will be the first Open Meeting in our new location on the Plaza. You'll find us on the first floor in the back near the elevator. Thanks for pitching in if you can.
Thank the NCRA for Working to Accommodate Trails
Wed. Aug. 12, Board of Supervisor’s Chamber, Humboldt County Courthouse, Eureka
The NCRA has worked to accommodate trail advocates by amending their Rail-with-Trail guidelines to make trails next to rails possible. Let’s thank them for their work, and remind them how important trail development is in Humboldt County for our economy, transportation system, and for the recreational opportunities.
Arts!Arcata Community Bike Ride
Fri. Aug. 14, Arcata Plaza, Arcata
Green Wheels would like to announce a community bike ride starting at 6p.m. from the middle of the Arcata Plaza. Come mingle with your fellow community members for a family-friendly ride through the Arcata Bottoms. Bring a bike, helmet, and friends!
Get Comfortable Biking in Traffic
Wed. Aug. 26, Community Wellness Center, Eureka
Learn how to ride on the road with motorized vehicles, proper lane positioning,
and other crucial techniques for safer, more enjoyable cycling in traffic. Led by Led by League of American Bicyclist certified instructors Chris Rall of Green Wheels, and Melanie Williams of Humboldt Partnership for Active Living.
