I am looking to expand my hydroponic growing system & have thought
about putting up a small greenhouse. In doing research on the web I
have found some very nice ones that are easy to assemble w/ double wall
sides, the price is a bit much & my husband thinks we could build one
as nice, as efficent & cheaper. I am looking for opinions & if anyone
out there has constructed a greenhouse from scratch (one with the
double wall sides), any suggestions. Thanks for the imput

I never construted one from scatch but I will tell you when I priced
between the two options.
I found I could buy a kit for a lower price than build it from scratch.
You should check this website out fro greenhouses.

Thank you, the site is great & the prices are good. I liked the medium
green one. I have to agree with you, I think by the time you run around
getting the stuff & the time you take to put it up, you are not saving
sufficient amounts to justify building on your own. Again thanks for
the site, I have bookmarked it.

Also once you have figured all the materials and went through the
headache of figuring all of them out then you have to figure out how to
build it.
Which is what I ran into I am no builder and I cannot afford a
contractor.
Have Fun!

hi flygirl i'm not quite sure what you mean by double wall sides it is
possible to build a greenhouse very cheaply and easily using a timber
or metal framework with a covering of polythene then insulating it with
horticultural bubble film.
building one from other materials such as glass or twinwall
polycarbonate can work out expensive and difficult for the amateur to
construct .

Thanks Ray, but I went to several sites & found one that is durable,
nice looking, large enough and very easy to put up. Not too bad in
price. I want it year-round for my plants & we do get some cold
weather. Go to Riongreenhouses & I went through Sams club for best
price. Thanks to the response from greenthing I found that site. This
is a great website for helps & suggestions. Flygirl
