Donate to the Farm2School Garden Tool Drive!

All this week, the Farm to School program will be accepting donations at the McClintic Library in Marlinton.  For each item, donors are able to enter a raffle ticket to win prizes such as local crafts, jewelry, and gift cards.

The drawing will be held this Friday, April 26th from 6pm-8pm in McClintic Library during a Farm to School Celebration Potluck.

Help!

Marlinton Elementary Farm2School is in need of volunteers on Tuesday, April 30th to build four 3 foot by 9 foot raised beds!  

The Farm2School program will be organizing a "Graduating Gardens" program for elementary students in Marlinton. In the spring, the kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade classes will be able to build and tend a garden with their classmates.  The Farm2School coordinator will maintain the gardens over the summer.  In the fall, these same students well be able to harvest from the garden that graduated with them.  (e.g., the kindergarten garden in the spring will become the 1st grade garden in the fall.)

If the weather permits, we will be meeting outside of the Marlinton Elementary School front doors at 5:30pm on Tuesday, April 30th with wood, topsoil, tape measures, and screws.  If you have a power drill or saw, please bring them!
