Today is the last day to submit nominations for the Appalachian Food Guide!
The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) and American Heritage Publishing are partnering to produce a tourist-oriented “mapguide” to boost tourism to Appalachia by showcasing its food-heritage and agritourism attractions. Sites to be featured include local farms, farmers markets, farm-to-table restaurants, and other distinctive food-related destinations.
American Heritage was selected for the project because of its knowledge of heritage destinations and its historical expertise. The mapguide’s development will be closely guided by ARC’s Tourism Advisory Council, a multi-state advisory group formed to leverage regional collaboration in Appalachian tourism.
Site nominations are now being accepted from the public at appfoodguide.com. All nominated sites must be located in the Appalachian Region, accept visitors, and represent a local food experience for travelers.
If you have questions about this project please contact in...@arc.gov, or the appropriate Tourism Advisory Council representative from your state.
