Thanks

According to me CPV is real answer to the power generation.  PV has limitations as conversions efficiencies are around 11-12% ON SUN efficiency as against 31% of CPV

It is the user who has to decide whether he will like to have CPV plant or PV plant.  I think the price of CPV today is at par with PV.

Hi Deepak,

Thanks for the email.

I do agree with you but do you think so CPV is reliable for 25 year
like PV?

Thanks

Hi Ritesh,
CPV has a problem with lenses. And yes, it is reliable, but only from a good
manufacturer.

Also, the lenses used, should be scratch proof, or else, with aging they
would develop scratches, and then solar radiation won't be normal, and thus,
efficiency would reduce..

Archit

Ram,Its interesting to know about CPV usage in India. In India CPV is in very early stage and due to this reason mainly it will be focused on imported manufacturers like Trina Solar, Solfocus, Moser Baer etc but  its going to be very competitive soon because to chinese manufacturers.

About your question Ram, CPV is intended for relatively larger projects that makes it cost-competitive to conventional PV. I do not think that in India any company has installed some big CPV projects.

Devendra, There are already many international companies which has already installed CPV systems.

Archit, Mostly International companies are using Fresnel Lenses with self cleaning.

Ritesh, Ofcourse no CPV systems have completed 25 years as it is still in a early stages of deployment though the technology is not new. But if it has passed all the certifications and testings like IEC 62108, and with warranty , and with support from Governments and Banks already in Europe, America and China, and now mass production has already started in all companies, then we should definitely give it a hope.

In India Square engineering Pvt Ltd has started manufacturing CPV units.  Each unit is 250 Wp and comes with two axis tracking mechanism.  The units are IEC 62108 approved and also IEC 61730 Part ! and Part 2A compliant.  Certification to that end is already issued.

Any idea on the cost per watt of CPV including installation?

Can you tell us what is the size of your CPV plant and how is the generation. CPV is usually costlier than PV and needs more place for MW level plants. But the generation is higher. CPV consortium claims break even point within 10 years. Life is 25 years. What is your experience?

Thanks,

Hi Nutan,

We took the cells from Emcore. We have not yet commercialized it. Our cost for making this modules went above 3 USD.

Thanks
