Subject: Venue Considerations
Joe,

I'm down for helping out.

What are the venue requirements? I haven't done the Bash before but I
suspect it's 'hands on':

- Capacity
- Seating (chairs vs tabletops)
- Food vs a kitchen
- Internet connection
-  Budget vs donated
- Is there non-profit status for donations?

Thanks, Ben

   - 150-200 seats
   - auditorium style is best, but rows of tables with a high screen will
   do.
   - venue dictates food options.
   - internet connection.  a good thing.
   - no budget except what you make from sponsors and tickets
   - no non-profit status, though you are welcome to apply.  It is pricey.

Great to hear you guys are grabbing the reins!

Some thoughts:

Yeah, you really want a place with some sort of desks. I'm personally a fan of round tables as they spark conversation, but classroom-style works well.

Try to get donated space. It is a big cost if you don't.

> - Food vs a kitchen

Some places make you use their catering and that is always more expensive. Last year, we brought in our own and it was very very cheap. Shoot for under $20/person for food.

Yeah.

There isn't. It would be cool, but probably not feasible in the short-term.

Good luck!
