I like the idea of moving the location down to the public beach at the past
the end of the city. When we went to the party at Casey's family house, the
beach in that area looked fairly open. My thought was - why aren't we

When I spoke with the city, they had no intentions of rebuilding it. I will go look at other beach access locations and get GPS coordinates and photos.

Andrew,

would not be much of a change in my opinion to add 2 miles to the
third day. Will give the sailors more time on the water to have fun!
would need excellent beach access and enough sand for all the boats,
GT300 and dash.
other requirement would be a major reduction in RED NECKS

The original course layout was based on a finish at Cat Alley rather
than East Beach, and I think the Founders were trying to keep the last
leg from being TOOO short - so set the finish as far south as
practical. Finishing at East Beach, I see no reason why the Surfside
finish couldn't be moved a couple or three miles north.

As most of you know Surfside over the years is the one location that
we continue to have trouble with, and with the addition of the Dash we
had 30 catamarans for 2009. I want to move the location either back to
Stahlman
Park if it's rebuilt in time, or further up the coast to the open
public beach which would add about 2 miles to the 3rd day.
