I'm having some trouble installing some user scripts. I know this is
not a problem with the scripts themselves, because not only does it
happen with multiple scripts, the same scripts used to work. I was
cleaning up my scripts and deleting ones I don't use anymore, and
accidentally deleted a couple I wanted to keep. When I went back to
their pages to reinstall them, however, I get an error that says:

[Exception..."Component returned failure code: 0x80520008
(NS_ERROR_FILE_ALREADY_EXISTS)
[nsILocalFile.copyTo]" nsresult: "0x80520008
(NS_ERROR_FILE_ALREADY_EXISTS)" location: "JS
frame :: chrome://greasemonkey/content/config.js :: anonymous :: line
148" data: no]

Then in the bottom bar I get "x script installed successfully." But it
didn't install successfully. I go to "Manage User Scripts" and the
scripts I was trying to add don't show up, nor do they work on the
pages they apply to. I feel like the data is cached somewhere, but I
don't know how to wipe it so I can reinstall. I've tried restarting
Firefox, uninstalling and reinstalling Greasemonkey, clearing my
cookies, and restarting my computer. I'm using the latest version of
Firefox with WinXP. Please help; I'd really like to be able to use my
scripts again!

Your scripts directory [1] is corrupted; some user script files are
still there, but Greasemonkey doesn't think they are. Either delete the
files that shouldn't be there, or remove it altogether. And depending
on which GM version you have, recreate an empty one [2].
