Subject: Fw: Who paid to defeat SD J.A.I.L.

Know our enemy.

-------- Original Message from Jacob Roginsky --------

I thank Attorney Gary Zerman for faxing to me the following information
on business interests that sponsored the anti-J.A.I.L. campaign in South
Dakota:

_Business Interest                                 Amount _

National Assn. of Mutual
Insurance Companies,
Indianapolis, In.                                  $50,000.00

Citibank, Sioux Falls, SD                $50,000.00

Exxon Mobil, Irving, Tx                     $25,000.00

Wells Fargo Bank, Sioux Falls, SD:   $25,000.00

First Premier Bank, Sioux Falls, SD   $25,000.00

Dacotah Bank, Aberdeen, SD           $20,250.00

First National Bank, Sioux Falls, SD  $20,000.00

CorTrust Bank, Mitchell, SD              $20,000.00

Bank West, Pierre, SD                       $20,000.00

Law Firm of Woods, Fuller,
Schultz, Sioux Falls, SD                     $15,000.00

As sad as this picture is, I hope we can learn from it.  For at least
two years prior to the SD attempt by J4J to pass their Proposition E
amendment, I had predicted that any such attempt would be fought tooth
and nail by the special interests, who properly see the judicial
immunity as their own.

Those who understand what we are up against do not entertain the ideas
that little Mickey Mouse letters and petitions to Congress will do
anything at all.   Neither do they expect that a Barack Obama, endorsed
by the Who's Who in the Democratic Party establishment is a man who
would be willing to rock the boat.

Jon
It would be interesting to find out other than the
usual motive of keeping the lawyers and judges in
power, if the top officers of any of the said
companies making donation in  opposition to JAIL:
1- are female furthering feminist agenda of violations
of parental rights of fathers, etc,

2- men who might have history of violence against
their partners, hence attempting to create a
smokescreen by contributing to feminists' favorite
causes, etc.

If movements like JAIL, equal parental rights, etc,
are to stand any chance of getting anywhere, they may
have to use some of the same tactics (but within the
law) that the opposition utilizes such as finding out
about the other side's true characters and background,
etc, and let the public know.
If there are mechanisms in place in future
elections/referenda, such info may be obtained in a
timely manner so as to utilize it usefully at the
time.

Amir

            Yours Sincerely,
Dr. Amir H. Sanjari

It is most likely that most of those donors did not have a position for
or against J4J. More likely a judge called a senior official of the
company and suggested that they contribute, with the hint that if they
didn't things might not go well for them the next time they go to court.
Special interest contributions are as likely to be the result of
extortion of them than bribery by them.
