Now you can drag tasks to / from more places. Get organized faster by viewing tasks in Smart Queues (or Tag queues) and dragging them to new queues. Collborate with others easier with the ability to drag tasks from your own queues to shared queues, and back.

Thanks to everyone who suggested this change.  More improvements to shared queues are still to come...

Sounds great, but doesn't seem to be working for me. Here's what I'm
trying to do: in Smart Queue "Overdue," I want to drag a task
currently in my "Waiting For" queue into my "@Home" queue in the left
panel. But nothing happens. There is no visual change in the "@Home"
queue appearance in the left panel when I hover over it, and when I
"drop" the task just snaps back to its old position, unchanged. Should
I be able to do this with the new feature? Any ideas for
troubleshooting?

Thanks!
/David

UPDATE:
Out of the blue it suddenly worked, but then stopped working again!

I've just tested things again and am not able to reproduce any issues.

A couple of things to note (perhaps my title "Drag Anywhere" is too broad):

1. You CANNOT drag tasks INTO Smart Queues.  When viewing tasks in a Smart Queue you can drag it to a regular queue are a queue shared with you.

2. You CANNOT drag tasks into queues that are shared with you in "view only" mode.  Only "collaborative" shared queues will accept your tasks.

3. You CANNOT drag a task into the queue it is already in.  So if you are viewing a Smart Queue and try to drag a task into it's existing queue nothing will happen.

Logout and login to ensure you have the latest version of the app (it should say "New: Drag Anywhere" in red at the top right when logged in)

When you drag a task over a valid queue does the name turn white like it should accept the task?  If you drop it, does it go to the queue or just revert back to its position?  Or does the queue name not even turn white when hovering over it?

Queue name not turning white for me, even after logging out and back
in again (Chrome on Windows XP).

The name does NOT turn white. The task reverts to its old position. As
I say, it worked *once*, so at least I know what working looks like!

Cameron, I am trying to drag from the Smart Queue, all-items into a
specific queue that is NOT a smart queue to change the tasks location
and I am not able to do it. Also running on a HP laptop, Chrome, and
windows 7 64bit.

Thanks for the reports everyone. I tracked down the issue and deployed a fix.  If you logout and login you will have the latest version of the app and will be able to consistently drag out of smart queues into other queues.

Using expanded queues option, and cant drag beyond the scroll line. So not exactly drag anywhere yet.

First, I really like GQueues and I try to promote it in our company. Nowadays a very good visual concept and simple handling is very important. I think GQueues is very good in that and as we fully rely on google applications it would fit well.
With the new Team Queues and Smart Queues it could be a potential solution. But there is one issue which sounds very simple but probably will be a knockout criteria. As I said, visualization is very important, and in big companies it is a trend to visualize tasks and work together on them in short meetings / huddles where everything has to go fast and easy.
To make a long story short it it would be great, If tasks could be moved by drag n drop in Smart Queues view in real time from one queue to another, like I have a board with stickers and I take one sticker from the "todo" site and put it on the "done" site.

Thanks for the feedback, Matthias - I've added it to the list of requested improvements.

In the meantime, this workaround may be helpful:

When viewing a Smart Queue, you can drag a task to a new queue in the left panel to move it.
After moving it, if you refresh the Smart Queue you will see the task in its new location.
