Overdue tasks crowding Google Calendar

In Google Calendar, when I look at the GQueues column on the right all I see are overdue tasks. 

So in practice, this could be titled "The Hopelessly Overdue and Mostly Insignificant task list."

Would be nice if I could select a Queue to show at the right.

Am I missing something?

Actually you can! You can set any queue to automatically show up on
the right when you first enter by clicking on the down arrow to the
right of the queue in your queue list and selecting "Set as default".

Are you talking about the GQueues Google Calendar gadget, Edo?  Yeah, right now you can't select what queues to show here.  Others have also suggested to make this gadget more functionality by choosing queues, etc....  It's only the list, but unfortunately not near the top of priorities right now.
