Cameron is surrounding himself with a close knit group of cronies,
we all know the Notting hill set,  and the Eton society, now we have
the old pals act, how long before he makes Rebekah Brooks his
press officer.

I see your point Sandman and assume he knew he would attract this type of criticism but put yourself in his place and you too would be tempted to have those you know best around you. Look around and you'll see similar trends even Saddam Huessein would only have his family as his nearest confidants. Stretched example maybe but along the same lines.
What's worrying me about the appointment is that Johnson is a Europhile which doesn't exactly send the right message to the electorate.
Anyhow he's going to get a good thumping at these elections and that hopefully will jerk him back to reality.

I have always gone for the best person for the job Jar, to give it to a
friend, inevitably ends up going wrong, and I have seen that many
times, I do however, recomend a friend for a job, if I think they are up
to it, even then I am careful, just in case it comes back on me.

The hypocrisy is that even those that are calling Cameron for this surround themselves with chums and family.
It doesn't even say what the jobs is. Why is that?
We taxpayers fund all this cronyism and put up with it because when it comes to X time, we let them back in.

Once again the press are showing voters what the Tories would like to
keep hidden.

Don't forget appointing his old mate (a low ranking inferior court
judge ) Lord Derry of the wallpaper to be Lord Chancellor, then
putting his old flatmate Charlie in the same job

The job had always gone to the most senior appeal court judge as a
completely apolitical appointment

Then it would have been good if that had been said in the first place AFFA as we wouldn't have needed to point it out.

The sun is yellow, the sky is up above, water is wet, fire burns,  all politicians practise graft and nepotism.  Let me know if you need any more obvious truths Jar <g>
