Och, GBur3,

That was nice of you. I'm just back from seeing the new year in, at
my younger daughter's house, with her family all there for the winter
holiday season. We had a Chinese take out - some Chinese have moved
in and taken over what was a fish and chip shop, and I enjoyed
Chinese Pancakes with Crispy Duck and Sweet and Sour Sauce followed by
Chow Mein and then Pineapple with Fruitballs. There were the prawn
crackers before and a wierd cider-like drink with 4 % alcohol and
raspberries from Sweden, that I had never come across before. At the
midnight signal we had an Australian Brut I brought that I bought on a
trip at a duty free store on a ferry from Scandinavia.

A round of games of Shot Chess then took place, from which I withdrew
early, just watching in case the younger generations got over-
excited, Some music was played and some further presents were handed
out. After that most went to the local pub which stays open all night
on this day, but I toddled back home to write this. They should all
be OK, there are four strong men and four respectable ladies, and all
are well known locally.

There were a few rockets fired on my way home - a German custom that
has been catching on here. We also spoke with my other daughter and
her hubby on Skype - they were at home in the Vosges mountains in
Alsace-Lorraine. My German Ex called me earlier to wish me a happy
new year, as did my English ex from before, with new life partner.

Coming home it was a braw bricht moonlicht nicht !

A perfect start for a perfect year, I so sincerely hope, for all of
you.
