David Cameron was in full retreat over his condemnation of celebrity
tax avoiders last night, following warnings that his attack on Jimmy
Carr could open a Pandora’s Box.

Yes he would have done better to keep his mouth shut but a direct question was put to him and he had to give an answer . Any answer he gave would have been seized upon by his detractors. Mind you a precedence had been made a while ago when Osborne referred to the practice as morally repugnant

Cameron is quite right.  All multimillionaire tax avoiders are behaving in a morally repugnant way, and that includes Gary Barlow, Lord Ashcroft and, apparently, David Cameron's very own daddy.  Being a Tory supporter only adds to their moral bankruptcy.

Not sure what the problem is really?

'Multi-millionaires' already pay more in tax over a few years than the rest of us pay in a life time.

They also pay bucket loads of VAT on expensive cars, goods, luxuries and other purchases.

They generally have companies that employ people, thus adding to the PAYE and NIC coffers.

Not forgetting stamp duty that would make a mere mortal have a heart attack on homes and other property.

In any event, I was talking directly about those multimillionaires who use this 'morally repugnant' scam to avoid paying more than a minute amount of tax, not the average socially conscious carey sharey multimillionare, such as yourself :O))

By the way, are you married?  Wanna be?

Wouldnt mind all these excessive taxes if they were not wasted on ensuring luxury life styles for our obediant public servants etc . plus of course all the other waste . When will these people start spending our money as if it were their own. I think it was Lawson that proved by lowering tax the treasury increased its tax recepts. Now there can be little doubt that there are bonuses for those that can think of new ways of taxing the public. I wonder after all these direct and indirect taxes have been deducted , bearing in mind the producers and sellers contributions just how much the indivual has left in his £1.

Little wonder that many get fed up with being treated as fools.

Just looked it up - Cameron's dad set it all up so that his spawn

wrong with that, I suppose - and Cameron didn't technically do
anything wrong, but still - it stinks a bit considering what he's

He is a politician GBur. One of a breed that has never actually
gained practical experience in the workplace. In that respect he is
no different to Blair or a whole spawn of university bred political
animals. Nevertheless, whilst he may have thought he would have had
a fairly easy ride after the disaster that was the Labour government,
he and the entire coalition, have been landed with an almost
insurmountable mountain of problems, with little time to prepare for
them. So, yes, Cameron makes mistakes and no, he is not a Tory.
Because of the immediacy of the media these days, he probably also
says things (that are published straight away) that, given a little
time for thought, he would not have said. As for his Dad trying to
keep as much of his wealth as possible.......wouldn`t you? I wish I
had the brains, or could afford to employ them, to outwit the tax man
or anyone else who wants to rob me of the rewards of a life-time`s
work. 50 years work and the taxes that are taken throughout that
time, should be enough. Not though are they? I am still taxed.

Hello tinman. "Two old men that haven`t worked in Lord knows how

that both Jar and I worked a total of 50 years .....paid work that

there is the other sort of work.....unpaid but rewarding
nevertheless. Do you do any of that? I somehow doubt it. But I
do. As for roaming from thread to thread.....do you not do that? I
seem to see the name "tinman" on various threads, and as for telling
other posters how to think and post, you most certainly do that.
Usually quite wrongly of course but that does not stop you. I think
you will find that Jar and myself post what WE think and leave it up
to others to rersort ot bits and pieces out of various newspapers to
form their opinions. You may not agree with my opinions.....but

Perhaps it is a big ask jar and perhaps Jonsky only mentions Thatcher when Tory culpability for anything, at anytime, is denied,  and usually follows a standard 'socialist plank' type jibe or a 'it's all labours fault since the history of recorded time gunvor'.

Did you expect better of Cameron before he was saddled with the Lib Dems or after AWM. Plank is not in my usual vocabulary either AVM and I only respond to unecessary insults..What out problems and necessarty austerity is down to has to be part of the debate. You obviouslt share Jonskys opinion of Mrs T. I do not for apart from her faults which I admit were there towards the end of her premiership I think she did a lot for this country. Personally I do think its mostly Labours fault its hardly a coincidence that this is the second time weve been left in a mess and what I object to is the social experiments which has left us in a country hardly recognisable to what it was . I am pleased to see some of this being rectified even with having to agree to some of the Lib Dems daft ideas to get it into law.
As you have seen both Ant and I have our reservations on Cameron but have to factor in his problems with the Lib Dems. Whatever you and Jonsky are Jonsky and his pal spend their time on castigating and insulting anyone that doesnt agree with their anti gvt ideas. Anyone that doesnt agree with them is labelled a Tory where in fact we dont have a Tory gvt but a coalition which is quite different. One thing I do know is that I wouldnt support what is now the opposition for all the tea in China especially as I know who their masters are. Quite clever really having lost their fight against Mrs.T they have restored their power by making the opposition relieant on them. This of course is now obvious why private funding wasnt stopped as they didnt want to include Union funding.

Those are my opinions and I will respond to false and exagerated claims.which I dont agree with as I have done with Camerons overseas aid and obvious lack of touch with those outside his coterie..

Can't recall ever posting about Thatcher, so not sure where your assumption came from. I voted for her at the time.

Funnily enough mate, I only ever 'castigate' those that revert to insults in the first place, especially TB, so you, again, seem to be lumping me in with others.

I will, however, always get bored as hell when you, in particular, never accept a legitimate complaint against the current incumbent at No 10 without you wanting a mention of the last. Neither have served this country well for decades.

Its plain he wasnt the ideal choice true conservatives would have hoped for and had Blair arrived on the scene to challenge him he might well have won . He never was true Labour but as I have previously posted saw an opportunity wikth an unelectable Labour party and a week Tory gvt and took it.

No you didnt I was replying to your points about Jonkys continued posting about 'hag Thatcher'

You have completely mistaken what I said . TB & Jonsky have their punch and Judy shows and I was referring the word plank to TB . Its not a word that I use. I also said that I only respond to insults and you dont have to be a genious to identify those that post little else and as it happens you are not on that list.

I repeat I have made numerous complaints about no 10 myself but invite you to re read Tinman,Jonsky and Affa who have to scrape the barrel to write some of the trivia they do which I find totally stupid and inaccurate. I realise Im on a board that regards anyone that doesnt agree with their style of politics as enemies of the state (their state) . I refer to the last gvt as it is they once again that have been in power for the last 13 years who else should I refer to?

I too find the type of politics on this board getting less interesting and miss the old board where debate was the order of the day and we had hosts that would stop much of what goes on here.

Sorry Jane but there are times when you realise after all other avenues have been tried that that is probably the only language the fool might understand. I really should take a leaf out of Ants book and not bother with the man after all I wouldnt be missing much and I could use that time to teach my dog how to play chess with better results.
