Mr Atkinson faced the sack after he refused to take the small palm
cross off the dashboard of his company vehicle.

It of course transpired that this 'unacceptable' behaviour only
related to the Christian Mr Atkinson, as a Muslim worker at the
company has been allowed to display a Koranic verse in the car she
uses for work, and staff are allowed to wear specially made company
burkas – which Wakefield and District Housing described as 'discreet'.

The dramatic climbdown by WDH came after a big public backlash against
the employer, including a demonstration outside their offices this
week by members of the British National Party. Our National Organiser,
Adam Walker, was arrested by police whilst taking part in the protest.

There are much bigger injustices to be worked up about!

For the want of a nail the shoe was lost
For the want of a shoe the horse was lost
For the want of a horse the rider was lost
For the want of a rider the battle was lost
For the want of a battle the Kingdom was lost
And all for the want of a horseshoe nail!

I still prefer my electricians to have both feet firmly on the ground,
but in rubber soled shoes so that they are safely insulated of course.
