We missed a good opportunity it seems when the US withdrew from
shelling Lybia leaving it to us and France.
That would surely have been the time for us to withdraw our forces
from the useless conflict in Afghanistan under the need to concentrate
in Lybia.
NATO like the UN is now shown to be defunct and once again the UK
takes up the strain. Its worth noticing that had Cameron and co not
been so stubborn or unwilling to admit their mistake the cost of
keeping the Ark Royal and the Harriers would have been a fraction of
what the deployment of the unready Typhoons that are not up to the job
is costing and are as yet unfit for purpose.
Hilarious that Italy is ready to offer facilkities for our our
aircraft to fly in the danger zone and take on the Lybians the Italian
air force has yet to fire a shot in anger.

I'm still surprised that a UN leader would authorize military
aggression. Is that in their remit? Aren't they supposed to defend
the peace, not taking sides? Just about every country in the world
has joined the UN so maybe it's gone to their head?
And you are right, Britain's bravest have gone in with little more
than politicians words and a reputation.
Italy is getting it in the neck from France for giving a warm welcome
to Libyan refugees who don't speak Italian but do speak French.

wasnt aware that Gadaffi had permission to slaughter fellow Lybians
for wanting freedoms we take for granted Englishwoman. MUch as one is
tempted to let them get on with it as it is impossible to stop these
madmen worldwide from what they do to their populations.
The UN like the old League of Nations is an expensive talking shop and
its my opinion we would be better off without it and the EU. How come
there is a class of people that manage to ponce off us and lead their
expensive life styles and only cause problems. Think how much we would
save without them

POLITS of ALL PARTIES and at national and Regional and Local level,
