Hi,

I would like to buy some PCs for public access in internet cafe.

I think the GOS may be suitable for this.

However, is there any utility in GOS to let to my restore to a clear
environment after reboot.

Or, can I use the WOL in GOS for the same purpose?

Thanks

You are describing a "kiosk mode", (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiosk_software
)
and I agree that gOS seems to be perfect for an internet cafe with
it's large buttons it seems very inviting, and it will run very well
on low cost computers.
gOS 3 is still in beta, I think there should be a fairly stable
version first before adding the lock-downs needed to add a kiosk-mode
to gOS.

I have to say that I don't understand what you mean by WOL, (wake on
Lan perhaps?) perhaps you can clarify that point.

Yes, WOL mean Wake On Lan so that I can remote power on and off the
PC.

I've actually setup a small public access lab using gOS 2 Gnome, it's
working well. Basically I had to create a new user with minimal
privileges, then have a cron job that replaces the /home directory
with the contents of /etc/skel on a routine basis. There's some nice
add-ons to firefox to make it a kiosk too (https://addons.mozilla.org/
en-US/firefox/addon/1659) The other option would to use a livecd or
usb stick to run it - remove the hard drive altogether.
