and prizes - this weekend!

WARSAW DOWNTOWN DAYS – DOWNTOWN CLASSIC ROAD CRIT – AUG. 7, 2010
OVER $4000 IN PURSE, PRIMES AND PRIZES!!!
KCV Cycling Club and the City of Warsaw, proudly invite you to join us for the
Annual Warsaw Downtown Days – Downtown Classic Road Crit this Saturday, August
7th.
Come enjoy a summer Saturday with some of the best bicycle racing in the area,
on a fast 4 corner circuit in downtown Warsaw, Indiana.
The half-mile course loops through downtown Warsaw and around the historic
courthouse district.
This year will also host the “Unofficial” Masters 35+ Cat 3/4 Indiana State Championship.
Race Promoter and KCV Cycling Club president, Alan Alderfer commented, “Since
the Cat 1/2 Masters will be in Louisville at Nationals, we don’t want any left
out, so we’ll host a party for the Cat 3/4 racers to let them vie for a State
Champion’s jersey.”
And since we’re not leaving anyone out, we want as many people to participate
as possible, so we’re also encouraging current racers, past racers, new racers
and anyone considering racing to break out those old classic steel bikes in
your garage and take to the course for the Men of Steel race. For more details
about Men of Steel Racing, check out our friends at <http://www.menofsteelracing.com>
The race is part of the Annual Warsaw Downtown Days festival which brings out
great community support, tons of activities for the whole family and extended
hours and sales by downtown merchants and vendors, live music, good
food and great brews.
Come early and don’t forget to bring the kids. Warsaw’s new First Friday’s <http://www.firstfridaywarsaw.com>
takes place the night before, kicking the weekend off with Family Bike Rides,
great back-to-school sales from downtown merchants, a kids carnival, the
Shriner’s parade and several fun games and booths hosted by local Warsaw United
Way agencies and organizations as part of the kick-off to our local United Way
Campaign – Warsaw Gives Back.
Saturday morning kicks off with the Optimist’s Big Wheel Race presented by
Penguin Point, and later that day, the kids get to take to the bike racing
course for our free KCV Kids Race. Kids need to be able to ride without
training wheels and must wear a helmet. Age groups are 4-6, 7-9, and 10–12.
Other festivities include; the K21 Health Foundation 5K Run, Dance
performances, Tae Kwon Do Demo’s, plenty of kids crafts, rides and games, and a
motorcycle show and pig roast.
