I think it would be great to tie in regional services as well. It
would allow you to plan a longer distance door to door trip with
public transit and with Amtrak and Greyhound that could be a multi-
state trip. Anyone else have thoughts of how to turn this into a
national system? Do airlines make sense? (I would tend to think not
because of the advanced booking requirement)

I would love something like that. Getting multi-modal transit
directions from my house in San Diego to the hotel in Los Angeles
would be incredibly useful. (That's something I just did; it required
coordinating the two cities' transit sites, plus Google Maps and
Amtrak.)
