I use the Google owned Blogger as a platform for my blog "
http://www.books.leatherboundtreasure.com " for my sitemap I use the
RSS feed which is automatically generated by Blogger. This has worked
fine until now because I am getting 6 sitemap errors that say "Invalid
XML attribute - The XML attribute of this tag was not recognized.
Please fix it and resubmit.". If the RSS feed is automatically
generated by the Google owned Blogger platform, why am I getting this
error in the Google owned webmaster tools?
Has anyone seen this before and how, if possible, can I fix it?

I like analogies, and here is my analogy for this situation:
One day George a general manager at a big department store that we
will call Waldepot discovers that they have not sold any Beanie Babies
in months. So George asks Bob the toy department manager "why is no
one buying Beanie Babies?" Bob replies "because I turned all the boxes
around on the shelf, and the stupid customers would have no problem
finding the Beanie Babies if they went around to the power tool
department on the other side of the shelf"
George replies "Invalid XML attribute - The XML attribute of this tag
was not recognized. Please fix it and resubmit."

I'm just telling you you must be using the wrong url for a sitemap.
The one given in the robtos.txt file is the one to use for a Blogger
blog.
If you self-host, then you can also create and upload your own proper
xml sitemap in the fromat given by sitemaps.org - otherwise the atom
feed one created by Blogger (and which does not get redirected to
anything like Feedburner) is to be used.

Hey
I resubmited the sitemap using the URL you suggested, and amazingly it
has already been downloaded. The problems are gone, thanks again
webado.
Just think how nice it would be if they had people like you working in
customer service at Waldepot. When we need help, they would give us
answers that make sense rather than "Invalid XML attribute - The XML
attribute of this tag
was not recognized. Please fix it and resubmit,"

I just checked out your site, and I also think Waldepot would be
better off if they more people like that Tyson Cecka guy working there
as well. Here is link to another guy with amazing pshysical talent:

You have really got to admire people with so much energy, but I think
I will stick to sitting here in front of my computer or taking a jog
around block.

I'm glad you were able to solve the problem but I thought I'd mention
that you don't really have to submit your Sitemap file manually --
since it's specified in the robots.txt by default, we'll find it
automatically :-). So in other words, you wouldn't have had to do
anything yourself (we're working on making this a bit more intuitive;
I agree that it could be confusing).
