started, please point to a reliable source defining the thing you refer to as minus 30 penalty. Forum threads aren't reliable. Picking an example to show why your question is unanswerable: >non-301 redirects What on earth is wrong with meta refreshs, 302 or 307 redirects when used properly? Where does Google state that they penalize you for non 301 redirects at all? There is a good redirect method for every use case; blindly doing only 301 redirects is plain sick (although understandable considering the amount of false SEO advice out there).
