I don't think it's a coincidence that since the "CHAT" tab appeared
suddenly on my IGoogle I can't delete a tab or change the theme of any
of them. HELP?????
Try changing your homepage back to: http://www.google.com/ig?gl=all It kind of resets it back to where you can make the changes & the tabs
will be back on top instead of on the side...

Thanx, Jackster....I tried that again and again... While it looks
great to have the tabs up top instead of on the side...I still can't
delete the extra tab (it's just taking up space) and I can't change
any themes on any pages. I think these problems MUST BE connected.
The reason I mentioned it as being a strange coincidence is because
everything was okay until the morning I woke up to find Chat added. My
husband has a duplicate laptop and he hasn't had Chat show up on his
yet. AND, his still works just fine (don't let it hear me) <G> That's
why I related it to Chat...wonder if Gem will read my post and get
someone looking at this thing. Meanwhile, I"m back to Netvibes.

Probably coincidental that they happened around the same time; I
occasionally hear from users who can't make changes to their iGoogle
pages. I recommend you try running through the troubleshooting steps
outlined here:
Hi Paul...I was ahead of myself...I had already emptied the cache and
the cookies AND then I ran a "RESTORE" back to last Friday. (ugh)
Still no good. Any other ideas would be appreciated...it's dumb to
have three pages/tabs/whatever with the same theme on them...and one I
just can't delete at all.
Even trying to go back to the old style with tabs along the top didn't
make any difference.

Thanx, Marshall...I tried your too...it looks like a great idea for
some folks...but my problem is not really the left hand column, it's
the fact that I can't delete a tab AND I can't change the theme on any
of them. If you come up with any more ideas...I'm ready to try them
all...I've tried running a restore...that didn't do anything about it
either.

This hack removes the chat tab from the IGoogle page
1. Goto http://www.google.com/ig/settings?hl=en 2. Scroll down to "Export / Import" and export your IGoogle Settings
to your desktop.
3. Open the exported xml file and scroll to the very bottom.
4. Remove the VERY LAST "<Section />" that you find
5. Save the xml file
6. Return to the IGoogle settings and upload the modified xml file.
7. Save your uploaded settings
I do use google talk. And I kind of like this feature.
To add the chat box back just use this url:
