I am an SEO specialist and I have used the Google API to run web
position reports, but lately they have been way WAAAY off any results
you would normally see from doing a standard search on www.google.com.
Is there any reason for this?? I have a site that ranks #4 on the API
results, but is not listed in the first 7 pages on a standard google
search.

Need some help with this...

First time I've used the API, but I'm seeing the same thing, very
frustrating

actually, my bad, I had setSafeSearch(true) so it was filtering out
some records

Even I am having similar problem. The results I get from the api vary
from the result shown by the webpage search. I tried varying the
SafeSearch but still I get similar problem.

I am quite sure the reasons are:

* You are getting results from another data center than
what Google normally redirects you to / fetches from?

* Google does not want you to know exact results? *G*

Well, I dunno, but above is what I think :-)

Has anyone thought that the difference in API results from web results
may be the fact google tailor results to IP addresses??? Just a guess.

I have seen different web results from different IP addresses, all
different to the API results.???
