Where can I get this stupid thing? I'm trying to use a keyword search
tool, which says it needs my Google API.

Google says they'll email it to me, but they don't.

I'm stuck in this friggin' loop. Maddening

Help anyone? I hate that Google has become such a behemoth that there's
no contact or help other than - everyone else. What kind of business
model is that?

Try to type in your account information again at the create account
form to get a "new key" (as said in the FAQ).
In my case this finally made me receive a key...
