My search app suddenly stopped working in a few days ago. Is the
http://api.google.com/search/beta2 down?

Thanks - John

"suddenly stopped working" isn't very specific, but I would gues
you experienced a 502 server response:
a. its essentially a load-balancing problem on Google's side
b. you don't have any recovery code on your side
c. by now it's back to normal.

Does this problem happen often? I would love to continue using Google
SOAP search API, but problems like this are annoying and counter-
productive.

Google are not giving new API keys, but the website also says that
"Developers with existing SOAP Search API keys will not be
affectedDevelopers with existing SOAP Search API keys will not be
affected.". Let's hope this is true and that it will return back to
normal soon.

P.S. I am using PyGoogle ( http://pygoogle.sourceforge.net )

Well, it happens unpredictable. As I said before, it seems to be
triggered by a load-balancing problem
for Google services in general, not the SOAP API in
particular.

This is still true. The 502 Bad Gateway error is not
connected to this.

Did you see the "Patch Proposal for HTTPError 502 Bad Gateway sporadic
Errors" there? It would be interesting to get any feedback for this.
