(1) Disclaimer
Google employees post to this discussion group with the email address
ending to google.com (you can see the email address of a poster in
Google Groups web interface by clicking "show options" in an article).
Google employees haven't discussed in this forum for a while (at least
not by using google.com addresses). In this forum anyone can ask and
anyone can reply to Google-related issues. I do not work for Google.
Opinions are mine, but quoted text from articles/web pages or pages
linked to from this article probably do not contain opinions I agree
with, but they might contain relevant, useful or at least interesting
information.
(2) Routine check information for future reference
Your main page is mentioned on page
"Personal Pages"
http://www.effingham.net/personalpages.htm
Only two of those eight personal pages are indexed by Google. Here are
the URLs for Google's cached versions of those pages from one of the
Google data centers (216.239.59.104) so it's easy and fast for you to
check the situation yourself by clicking the links below:
http://216.239.59.104/search?q=cache:http://www.effingham.net/travele...
http://216.239.59.104/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLG,GGL...
These six web pages haven't been indexed by Google:
http://216.239.59.104/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLG,GGL...
http://216.239.59.104/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLG,GGL...
http://216.239.59.104/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLG,GGL...
http://216.239.59.104/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLG,GGL...
http://216.239.59.104/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLG,GGL...
http://216.239.59.104/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLG,GGL...
I can find incoming links pointing to your site from web pages indexed
by Google, so your main page should be indexed by Google, examples:
http://216.239.59.104/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLG,GGL...
http://216.239.59.104/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLG,GGL...
http://216.239.59.104/search?q=cache:http://drumpro.com/links_equipme...
On the other hand Google doesn't promise to index all the pages from a
web site:
"Although we index billions of webpages, we cannot guarantee that we'll
crawl all the pages on a particular site."
http://www.google.com/webmasters/2.html
(3) Suggestions for solution
To get indexed by Google you need incoming links from web pages already
indexed by Google, and you do have them:
"The best way to ensure that Google finds your site is to have pages on
other relevant sites to link to yours. Google's robots jump from page
to page on the web via hyperlinks, so the more sites that link to your
pages, the more likely it is that we'll find them quickly."
http://www.google.com/webmasters/1.html
Because Google doesn't index all the web pages from a web site, one
solution would be to buy your own domain.
On the other hand, Google Jagger Update has happened and the search
results may change during the next weeks, so you could just wait and
see, and maybe contact Google by giving a URL to this discussion
thread.
Because of Google Jagger Update, Google employee Matt Cutts suggests
this:
"Reporting non-spam issues or problems in Google's index"
"Do the search that you're interested in on google.com, then click
the "Dissatisfied? Help us improve" link at the bottom right of the
page. Again, fill in details and use the keyword jagger1 so that folks
at Google can separate out feedback specifically about this update."
