Subject: First Google Desktop Experience
Hi all

I kinda Googleized myself in last couple of weeks in many ways...
calendar, spreadsheets (+docs currently, n1 work), gmail for some time
of course... so I took a risk and downloaded Google Desktop pack. I
have to say, that I'm completely blown off by what (and how) Google
does in my web browser and I like what he can deliver in many ways.
Google Desktop is really fresh experience for me, but not so "oh this
works exactly like I want - or even better - again"... like everything
up to this date. ;-)

Let's start with the pack:
- Everything started to download without asking. I felt like I don't
have control here. I cancelled something (e.g. antivirus, have other
already) and now I'm not sure... is it set up to not install in next
update? :-)

Than I downloaded Google Talk - this one didn't surprise me. Worked
exactly like I wanted - well done.

But than I started to mess up with settings for Search Bar. Side bar
was too intrusive for me - it shifted my icons on desktop, etc. I never
liked sidebars - and this one hardly can be wide like one icon. Any
other setting displays only search input box without possibility to add
gadget (that was what I wanted).

I can add gadget from that Gadget thing in taskbar, but somehow I
managed to remove this thing and I can't turn it back. I set "Taskbar
Gadgets Button - Show icon and text", but nothing - always only Search
bar without this Gadget button. Instead of this I have two similar
menus in taskbar (one near Search bar and one on the Google Desktop
icon in sys-tray).

I like that 2xCtrl feature with results and all - again - awesome job
done here! But I'd like to see something more than Preferences here.
Something that brings me way how to do anything that can be done with
Google Desktop - like aforementioned Add Gadget.

Now - while I had some gadgets working I missed feature like hide/show
them all. Something like "show desktop" for windows. It can be
integrated with that Google Desktop icon in sys-tray or whatever.

OK, I know that I use it only for a while - but I wanted to express my
feelings with another google product in context of that always
presented "ah, this is awesome - again". I'm sure you have concept and
reasons why things are like they are, but if any of this can be
realized, than I'm happy. ;-) Oh - I am already... so be it happier.
;-)

Thanks for what you're doing
