Subject: Discussion on gwt-iphone-pretty-tasty
Hello GWT Team,
thanks for that example and kudos for good work,

I've been watching feed reader sample svn on google code from a while
and I'm noticed changes you've been adding to it recently,
I would welcome to see implementation of what you have written inline
in source files about data: protocol inclusion, That would be the
killer feature for that kind of apps if tweaked and moved from
incubator to official release (maybe generator that could somehow wrap-
up entire application into single data: protocol entry so users could
save application as bookmarlet widget  for off-line usage - still
wondering if that is even possible though).
Will be that possible to add special generator for small-devices more
specifically for iPhone and iTouch  - because there few differencies
between iu handling in both (contacts, phone, mail links are good
examples of that different behavior which could be automated in GWT by
using different impl classes),
Thing that should be mentioned is that there are few changes required
in GWT widgets: I mean default event sinking implemented in ui
widgets. Something that is within UnsunkLable/UnsunkImage in example
code project. Developers should be awared about that because they most
probably won't be testing on real device usually,
For me GWT toolkit seems pretty well fitted if someone will want to
provide custom impementation of UI specifically for iPhone/iTouch
devices. In my spare time Ive been playing with porting iUI library by
Joe Hewitt:
http://www.joehewitt.com/iui/
to GWT implementation. I've even posted few things on GWT Designer
forum as results of that, To put it stright: if somene want that - she/
he could even design content for iPhone/iTouch visually:
http://www.instantiations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=5399#5399
http://www.instantiations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=5404#5404
resing design area to match iPhone default screen:
http://www.instantiations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=5358#5358
all using only GWT without any additional resources required,

kind regards,
Peter

i just tried the GWT feed reader on iPhone and i have a complaint. it
links to the full webpage instead of the google mobile version that
cuts out all of the images and garbage and just shows the page so it
loads fast over edge

please fix this!

I can't wait to see a "decent" version of the Google Reader for the
iPhone! You guys should get some "inspiration" from NewsGator,
although I'd rather have GR a little different from that...

Great to see this work coming along!
Cheers

Please don't do that!! Or at least have the option for the full
version!! That's actually the main reason I "hate" the actual Google
Reader Mobile on the iPhone!! I mean, the big advantage of the iPhone
is actually the ability to "keep up" with the full pages... make use
of it! Maybe have an option to disable image loading, but still load
the full page (it would have to be inside of iframe for the image
block to work without changing the browser's settings... kind of like
the mobile reader!)

Another feature I'd like to see is a "j/k" button that we can tap
along and marking them as read as we go along! ;)

I'll be sure to test any alpha/beta versions that you might want to
release of a Google Reader iPhone version... and please release
something soon... =)

Cheers
